In memory of Freidrich "Fritz" A. Weiler

We are saddened to inform you of the passing of Freidrich "Fritz" A. Weiler. Fritz was a loyal member of the Wisconsin soccer community.

Fritz Weiler, Player, Bavarian SC, 2008

He resided in Milwaukee, WI with his wife Marise. Mr. Weiler was born in Ubstadt, Germany in 1950 where he played youth soccer with F.V. Ubstadt. Fritz immigrated to Waukesha in 1964 after the death of his parents, where he played youth soccer for the Waukesha Continentals. In 1968, he joined the Milwaukee Bavarians' Major team where he played for 17 years. As a midfielder for the Bavarians, Fritz led them to numerous Major Division, State Amateur and Open Cup championships and in 1976 to the USSF National Amateur Championship. Fritz was widely recognized for his tremendous work rate and tireless running in midfield and his ability to enable his teammates to maximize their effectiveness.

Dear Teams,

This year the WASA Indoor league will be held at Uihlein Soccer Park from Saturday, January 7, 2012 to Saturday, March 3, 2012 assuming we have enough teams interested. The structure of the league will be dependent upon how many teams sign up. Eight indoor games will be played on Saturday evenings at 10:00pm and 11:00pm. We will rotate game times so all teams will share the early and late starting times. Please note that there will be NO GAMES on Saturday, January 28, 2012, because of the Whitefish Bay Tournament.

The fees for the eight-week season are $770.00 per team, same as the last 5 years. If your team wants to participate in the indoor session, the WASA needs a $400 deposit no later than Tuesday, December 6, 2011. All of your outstanding fees must also be paid up. The balance of the fees, $370 will be due by or on the first game on Saturday, January 7, 2012.

We will be using two WSA referees for every game. Referee fees are included with your total fees. A mandatory meeting for all team managers will be held on Thursday, January 5, 2012 at the WSA Office. You will receive a copy of the indoor game rules will be given out at that time.

Please let us know by December 1, 2011 whether you want play.
